Is the software robust
YES
The key here is to ensure is it on a stable and reliable equipment platform. This means installing quality PCs and ensuring they are configured correctly with the right drivers for all the equipment and networking.
It is also imperative that a UPS (Un-interruptible power supply) is connected to your data server as power fluctuations and shortages will corrupt your PCs operating system and program databases.
If the network goes down the tills will automatically detect this and will revert to Emergency mode so that you can continue to sell immediately. These transactions will then be uploaded to the main PoS-iT database the next time you go into PoS-iT.
If corruptions do occur we have the PoS-iT Data Doctor that will apply first aid to your database and the system will be up and running in approximately 10 minutes.
Support. Is it there?
YES
We use our own system day in day out so all our staff can answer support queries, whether you speak to the administrators or to the M.D. We have different people who have different areas of particular expertise such as equipment, database, accounts and stock setup.
Who does your product file maintenance and updating?
If you let someone else update your product files you immediately lose control of that area of your business. In our experience everyone likes their descriptions formulated in a certain way for instance that all the Tubes start with TUBE in the description. A suppliers description may start with 21 x 65 and may not contain the word TUBE at all and therefore doesn’t help when you are looking for an item within a list.
We have many tools and functionality to aid product maintenance including retail/supplier price change tables, for easy alteration of many products. The most used is the Import/Export Utility. This enables import and export to Excel and means that files provided by suppliers can be imported in this way.
The time you take to set up your system in the first place will pay you dividends from your investment in the future.
Can you see reports on the screen and on a printer?

Can the system run a series of jobs overnight?

From data backups, file tidy, data house-keeping, communicating with other branches and head office, to product deletion routines.
Can the re-order system adapt as your business changes?

Our re-order wizard gives you 4 different re-order calculation methods and various other amendable criteria and needs to be demonstrated to show how flexible it is.
Can you instantly see on screen sales and margin information?
YES
To those users allowed to see such information, even when in the till screen, one button takes you into the stock screen where the information is displayed with this week/last week, this month/last month and YTD also available.
Can I suspend a Sale?
YES
Not only can you put a sale on layaway, you can pick it up at any other till or workstation. You can even add a customers name to it and take their payment details.
